Mac & Wild's modern Scottish cafe & restaurant is set in the middle of a forest adjacent to a spectacular waterfall famed for it’s migrating salmon leaping upstream.
Stop in for a spot of shopping in our gift shop or, for those with more time to spare, we’ve put together a programme of workshops and events with the help of other local artisans. From whisky tastings in the woods to foraging, yoga & pickling classes, take a break from the day to day with a special experience in the forest.
Visitors can enjoy our award winning food using local produce including the UK's No1 Burger and 7 x week dry aged ribeye or venison chateaubriand. Relax from the cozy comfort of a beautiful wood clad building fringed with an adventure playground, mud kitchens, crazy golf course and woodland walks perfect for entertaining the most active of little legs and minds.
Mac & Wild is passionate about sharing the finest of a modern and progressive Scotland. Our offering attempts to reflect just that. Whether visiting the cafe for a simple tea and homemade cake whilst enjoying the peaceful surroundings or a wholesome lunch or dinner (weekends only), guests are invited to enjoy the simple brilliance of Scotland’s natural larder. Our menus offer both casual and more occasion dining plus for the 2019 season, we’re thrilled to be offering a monthly outdoor supper club, hosted in our ‘bothy’. The meal is prepared on the open fire by co-founder Andy Waugh. Guests can expect a cornucopia of seasonal Scottish produce such as venison, langoustine & foraged herbs.
For those with more time to spare, we’ve put together a programme of workshops and events with the help of other local artisans. From whisky tastings in the woods to foraging, yoga & pickling classes, take a break from the day to day with a special experience in the forest.
Falls of Shin is our way of living the Mac & Wild story rather than just telling it. We hope friends will use the venue as an enriching and social gathering place in one of the country’s most stunning locations.
