Founded in the late 1980s, Uist Craft Producers is an association of Uist resident artists and artisans whose work may be seen and purchased in our shop at Kildonan. Traditional and contemporary processes are represented in a range of art and craft disciplines including painting, photography, ceramics, jewellery, knitting & weaving (some using hand-spun fibres), glassware, candle making, hand-made soap, bookbinding, poetry and music.
All work on sale is of local origin, since our permitted membership range is from Eriskay in the south to Berneray in the north. The Association is entirely self-financing and the shop is manned by members throughout the season - usually Easter to mid October.
We are easily found, along with the Museum and Café at the Kildonan Centre, South Uist. This is prominently situated beside the main A865 road around 4 miles north of Daliburgh.
