There are various dramatic walks & viewpoints in and around Oban, including at Gallanach beach

 There is the Oban whisky distillery, you might wish to go for a stroll along the harbour and have some fish & chips.

Once we are leaving Oban, we explore more of the Argyll coastline, we are having a chance to cross “the bridge over the Atlantic” to Seil, Luing and Easdale, take some stunning photos at Craobh Haven and Ardfern before heading into the prehistoric Kilmartin glen with ancient standing stone circles, burial mounds and Pictish slabstones– we drive along part of the Crinan canal – have the option to explore wild and beautiful places in Knapdale, the stunning Kilbery route, visit beautiful Tarbert/Loch Fyne cross the mountains for a view of the Isle of Arran and a possible walk around Skipness castle before heading via Loch Fyne - Arrochar/Loch Long and Loch Lomond back to the Central belt and Stirling.

Depending on the weather, we might discuss and decide to reverse the route and first drive the “return route” and then the “outbound route” on the way back (so as to maximise sunshine and minimise rain).

Also on very rainy days, we may have less outdoor sightseeing and if the group so wishes, we may visit a whisky distillery, castle, museum, etc. indoors

  • We head out west through the Loch Lomond and Trossachs nationalpark and a scenic route to Oban, a beautiful and bustling ferry port and the main gateway to many of the Hebridean islands.
  • On arrival, there is a lot to do and see, we go up to McCaig’s folly/Colloseum for the best view of the stunning colourful harbour or go walking on the isle of Kerrara. If you wish you could also take the stunning 45 minutes crossing from beautiful Oban to the Isle of Mull with all round views of islands, the Lismore lighthouse, Duart castle, mountains and the sea.
