Traversing the country in 134 miles, this walk is as much about discovering Scotland’s history and culture as it is about walking through its diverse landscapes. It includes the famous Loch Lomond and the city of Edinburgh, as well as the beautiful East Lothian coastline and fascinating industrial heritage of the Union and Forth & Clyde canals.
On route, you will visit the Antonine Wall, Falkirk Wheel and Forth Rail Bridge. Film buffs should also look out for filming locations like Blackness Castle, Prestonmill and Linlithgow Palace. Good transport links between sections make it suitable to complete over a number of shorter trips if doing the whole trail seems like a daunting proposition.
