Balnakeil is a stunning A-listed nine bedroom Highland lodge which sleeps up to 17 in the North West tip of Scotland, walk out the back door onto the beach, all rooms with mountain or sea view, wood burning stoves, five star, family friendly.

Balnakeil is a stunning A-listed nine bedroom Highland lodge which sleeps up to 17. Completely renovated and restored in 2012 it has been sympathetically refurbished to provide a unique and luxurious experience.

Situated in a stunning environment in the North West of Scotland, all rooms have spectacular sea or mountain views. Step out the back door and onto the mile and a half long white sandy beach. Whilst inside, enjoy a timeless décor of earthy colours in sympathy with the surroundings, solid wooden. furniture and heated slate floors, lovely muted plaids and tweeds from Anta. The superbly equipped kitchen, with an Aga at one end and a woodburning stove at the other separated by a 4.5m long oak table, which can seat 18, makes the perfect spot to gather and socialise whilst preparing and enjoying meals. A games room with a table football, board games, books, DVDs, stove, a comfy sofa and a flat screen TV will keep the young at heart entertained, whilst those requiring quieter moments can rest in the opulent drawing room upstairs, with a view over the beach, before all joining up for dinner in the dining room. The nine bedrooms, 2 of which have 4 poster beds, are welcoming and exceptionally comfortable, with crisp white linen over memory foam mattresses.

It is an attractive walk to Durness (1 mile) to find the shop, pub, and petrol station, stop by the Craft village on the way and peruse the local arts and crafts on offer, or buy some scrumptious chocolate at the well-known Chocolate Factory.

This is an ideal holiday house for family holidays, as well as those with an interest in activities such as golf, walking, cycling, birdwatching, when you stay here, you will not want to leave.
