The accommodation which is all on one level consists of two good sized bedrooms and sleeps 4. The cottage has a bright and comfortable lounge with dining area and a wood burning stove, perfect for cosy evenings in winter. Windows overlook the garden and beyond to the hills of Upper Deeside and the River Dee. There is a well equipped kitchen and bathroom with electric shower.
Birchwood Cottage has electric panel heating throughout plus a plentiful supply of logs for the stove. There is off street parking alongside the cottage and in good weather guests can enjoy the outdoor patio area and garden.
There are a variety of delightful and scenic walks straight from the door. Birchwood is the perfect holiday cottage for enjoying all sorts of activities within the Cairngorm National Park. For the keen Munroist, Birchwood is a great base for setting forth into one of Scotland's finest wilderness areas. Ben Macdui, Ben Avon, Lochnagar, Cairn Toul, Devils Point to name but a few of the areas iconic Munros, are all within reach.
The surrounding countryside is also a paradise for walkers of all abilities from full on Munro bagging to gentle strolls from the cottage door. Mountain bikers can choose from routes and distances which are as challenging as you want to make them and always through magnificent scenery. Winter sports enthusiasts are well served by Scotland's largest Ski Centre at Glenshee, eight miles South of the village.
With wonderful opportunities for the keen landscape photographer this area has it all. The ever changing light and scenic splendour is a photographers delight.
Braemar even boasts Scotland's highest 18 hole Golf Course it's just over a thousand yards to the first tee from Birchwood Cottage. The accommodation is within easy walking distance of a range of cafés and shops in the welcoming village of Braemar.
