Accommodating four people, couples or families are very welcome. The cottage is ideally suited for two couples wishing to spend time together. Both double bedrooms feature luxury kingsize beds with deep pocket sprung mattresses, 800 thread count cotton sheets, luxury cushions and throws. Both rooms are cosy with their own adjoining luxury shower rooms.
The kitchen includes a dishwasher, washer dryer, fridge freezer, electric oven, hob and microwave. You will find everything you need to cook and eat in. The dining table extends if required. We supply brand new kitchen cloths for each guest and everything will be spotlessly clean on arrival. On a clear day you can also see across the countryside, to the sea.
The lounge is a cosy, comfortable room with two sofas, an electric flame effect fire, DVD, Smart TV with logins for Netflix, Rakuten and Amazon Prime (own accounts needed) There are a selection of games, DVD’s and books for your enjoyment. There is also a book of local information and our personal recommendations. There is free Wifi.
The cottage is nicely situated on the A97, convenient for reaching both the coast and countryside. Plenty of beaches nearby offer water sports, wildlife boat trips, coastal walking and dining. Aberdeenshire is well known for its castles, golf, fishing and Whisky. There are many lovely places to visit and explore, from harbour towns to country parks and houses. The area is unspoilt by tourism and abundant with wildlife.
Guests can check in after 4pm on the arrival day.
All the amenities you will need are close by. Aberchirder, a village 3 miles away, offers basic shopping and take away food. Whilst Banff, just 5 miles from here, offers larger grocery stores, shops, Drs, hospital, restaurants and so on.
Nature lovers will enjoy spotting our local wildlife. In the immediate vicinity of the cottage there are many deer, bats, owls, badgers, rabbits and even pine marten if you’re lucky. Dolphins and seals are often seen on this stretch of the coast, particularly in the warmer months.
Buttermere Cottage will ensure you have a comfortable relaxing time, even if the weather lets you down. It’s a great place to chill out and just be together. In the winter it is very cosy and warm.

COVID SAFE ACCOMMODATION
Buttermere Cottage is professionally cleaned after every let. Specifically this includes the use of antibacterial cleaner on all hard surfaces, such as kitchen work surfaces, bathrooms, interior door handles, including kitchen cupboards and white goods, remote controls, light switches and exterior door handles. Antibacterial sprays and hand wash are always supplied within the premises. Clean, the company we employ to clean the cottage, train their staff to high standards and can be relied upon to do an efficient cleanse of the cottage for all guests. As a precaution, we have also temporarily removed books & board games.
We have always enjoyed greeting our guests on arrival. However, for your safety and ours, we will arrange a socially distanced arrival and entry to the cottage for the time being.
