Right on the shores of Loch Shiel, some 40 miles from Fort William on the beautiful Ardnamurchan peninsula and in the scattered little community of Acharacle is Cultalla Cottage, surrounded by its large, enclosed and secluded grass garden (furniture), perfect for children and pets, with Acharacle’s hotel and little shops within an easy stroll.
The cottage has been a real labour of love for the talented owner, who has given it a superb makeover. Light and airy, with loch views from the windows, it enjoys every modern comfort. Reached by a short, gated drive from the little single-track road, there is plenty of parking at the door, and access to a jetty for canoes or kayaks.
Acharacle is well placed for hill walking, fishing, viewing the abundant local wildlife, as well as the beach at Kentra (4m), heading north to the silver sands of Morar, the excellent golf course at Traigh and on to Mallaig and the ferry to Skye. To the South, from Salen (3m) you can access the tip of the peninsula and, from Kilchoan, catch a ferry to Tobermory on Mull.
