Eddrachilles is an independent Highland hotel on the coast of North West Sutherland, close to the NC500 mid point, with stunning sea views and three acres of tranquil, private, woodland grounds. The team pride themselves on thoughtful and generous Highland hospitality, including complimentary tea or coffee and cake between 4 and 5 pm each day and a handy snack box every morning. The ten bedrooms provide cosy, comfortable accommodation, all with ensuite facilities. Our restaurant, The Glebe Kitchen, has an excellent reputation for relaxed, refined dining, serving modern Scottish cuisine, a quality wine list, and a well stocked, dispensing bar.

Open from early April to late October each year, award-winning Eddrachilles Hotel is on the coast of North West Sutherland, approximately 2 miles south of the village of Scourie or 40 miles north of Ullapool, with a driveway leading from the A894, part of the North Coast 500 route.

A former Church of Scotland manse, this historic listed property was completely reconfigured in the later part of the 20th century as a small Highland hotel with 10 bedrooms. Four of those rooms and all public areas of the hotel have step free access. Owners Richard and Fiona Trevor have owned Eddrachilles since March 2016 and are steadily putting their own stamp on this hotel while still retaining its authentic charm.

The hotel has stunning sea views and is set in three acres of tranquil woodland grounds with an informal garden leading directly to the shore. lt appeals equally to outdoor enthusiasts, North Coast 500 adventurers, and those simply seeking tranquility in Nature. Handa Island is nearby for bird watchers while some of the finest hillwalking and sailing are on our doorstep. In 2025 we will be opening a guest mooring close to the hotel in Badcall Bay. It's also lovely country for dogs and Eddrachilles welcomes well-behaved dogs.

Eddrachilles provides comfortable and cosy accommodation. All bedrooms have ensuite bath or shower rooms. Four ground floor rooms can be configured as either twin or superking double beds. The first floor rooms have King sized double beds. However, the maximum occupancy of each room is two people. There are no rooms suitalble for an additonal bed. All guests must be 12 years old or over.

The lounge and sun lounge have wood burning stoves making them snug places in which to relax, play board games, read books, or sample our well stocked Taste of the North bar. Our hospitality extends to standard teas and coffee being served free of charge on request in the lounges to resident guests throughout the day and complimentary cakes and scones served 4pm - 5pm each day. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel but while is offers reasonable quality it is not as fast as you will find in city centres. There is also very little mobile phone connection in the hotel. We are a pet friendly hotel with a special BowWOW offering for our visiting dogs. Please let us know in advance if you intend to bring your dog or dogs with you (we make a small charge is made per visit for each dog).

Breakfasts at the Eddrachilles typically offer a choice of cereals, fresh fruit salad, berry compote, yoghurts plus toast and muffins. The main feature is, however, our freshly cooked to order hot menu which includes smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, porridge with cream and Drambuie, the Laird's grill, and poached smoked haddock or French toast. Our vegan menu may include freshly prepared smoothies, nut butters, nut curd cheeses, cereals and speciality porridge. A takeaway breakfast option is available for those keen to make the very most of our long summer days.

For dinner, The Glebe Kitchen restaurant , offers refined but relaxed dining. Our chefs cook from fresh, and where possible, local ingredients and use both classic and modern techniques to produce a refined, modern Scottish Table d'Hôte menu which changes each day. Rooms may be booked on a Bed and Breakfast basis or, for best value, we offer a Dinner, Bed and for those booking 2 or more nights accommodation.

As we cook from fresh we are able to cater for allergies, medical, religious and life choice diets but we do ask for notification in advance. In our remote locaiton, supplies can be impossible to arrange at short notice.
