Fishing & Walking on the River Spey – The 172 km-long River Spey is famous for salmon fishing and whisky production.
Old Spey Bridge – Built in 1754 as part of Scotland’s military road network. It was partially damaged in the Great Flood of 1829 but remains a beautiful pedestrian bridge.

Follow the footsteps of the Jacobites and visit Ruthven Barracks, where one of the last battles of the uprising took place.
Stand before the historic walls of Cawdor Castle, said to have inspired Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
The Highland Folk Museum offers a living history experience, bringing Scotland’s past to life.
One of the region’s most legendary figures is Alexander Stewart, the ‘Wolf of Badenoch’, a ruthless warrior who left behind a legacy of destruction. His stronghold, Lochindorb Castle, sits mysteriously on a remote loch just a short drive from Garden Park. Nearby, you can visit the haunting ruins of Elgin Cathedral, which he famously burned to the ground.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable historic experience, Culloden Battlefield is a must-visit. The last battle fought on British soil took place here in 1746, marking the end of the Jacobite rebellion. The visitor centre provides a deeply moving insight into this dramatic chapter of Scottish history.
Just a few minutes’ drive from Culloden lies the Clava Cairns, a 4,000-year-old burial site surrounded by standing stones. These ancient structures have inspired legends, including connections to Outlander. Both Culloden and Clava Cairns are places of deep historical significance and should be visited with respect. Please remember, these are not just tourist sites but places of remembrance.
