The Glebe Barn, on the beautiful hebridean Isle of Eigg, is a comfortable, well appointed 22 bed hostel plus separate 2 person mezzanine apartment that can be let in conjunction with, or separately from the hostel.

The Glebe Barn is a charming and characterful conversion of a 19th century building on the Island of Eigg in the Inner Hebrides. The accommodation has a relaxed and homely ambience with breathtaking views. Situated towards the centre of the island only one mile from the pier, where there is a licensed cafe/restaurant, shop and craft shop, the Glebe Barn is ideally located for exploring the island.

The Glebe has a large lounge/dining area with solid maple floor, log fire, sound system and a small library with plenty of games and jigsaws for all ages. All rooms have fabulous panoramic sea views. The kitchen is superbly equipped and has a separate pantry with ample storage for large groups. A laundry room provides a commercial sized washing machine and tumble dryer. There is free wi-fi throughout the building. The building is fully central heated with hot showers and washing/drying facilities. Linen is provided but not towels.

Sleeping up to 22 in 1 twin room, 2 triple rooms, an 8 bunk and a 6 bunk room, Glebe Barn is perfect for families or large groups. The large open plan lounge/dining area divided by a centrally located log fire has proved extremely versatile, providing an ideal venue for schools, universities, corporate training events, conferences, workshops and retreats; or simply get-togethers with family and friends. There is also an adjoining 2 person mezzanine apartment available.

The building is let as self catering, although full catering is available to groups by prior arrangement with our superb local catering team who provide delicious locally sourced, home cooked food.

What better place than Eigg to relax or energise. A haven for nature and wildlife lovers, photographers or outdoor enthusiasts, with stunning beaches and coastal landscapes, regular traditional music sessions and fantastic local produce and cuisine, Eigg can make a magical Hebridean holiday.

Complete with high chair, cot and a plethora of entertainment including table football, board games, books and jigsaws for all ages you needn’t worry about rainy days. An new kids club ‘Mini Eiggs’ also starts this summer offering an amazing range of activities for kids of 4-12yrs old.

Eigg itself is a child’s paradise offering beaches, creature-full rock pools, woodland witch-haunted paths, fairy rivers and rugged hills. Bike hire is available, as well as archery lessons, day trip sailing excursions, ceilidh dance lessons, felt making classes, willow weaving workshops and more. Regular music sessions and traditional summer ceilidhs all add to the island family experience.
