The large dining kitchen is packed with features – a range cooker with double oven, integrated fridge-freezer and dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and everything a cook could need. Try out the recipe books to whip up a feast and enjoy it at the farmhouse table overlooking the garden, watching the birds at the feeders and the amusing antics of the squirrels
Upstairs are two bedrooms - one with king-size bed, the other with twin beds that can be made up as a super-king instead if you wish. With luxurious mattresses, Egyptian cotton linen and a choice of firm or soft pillows, you’ll sleep in blissful comfort. There’s room for a travel cot in the master bedroom too, if requested
The bathroom is wonderfully indulgent with classic wood panelling, a walk-in rain shower, Scottish Fine Soaps toiletries and plenty of delightfully fluffy towels
The laundry (originally the washhouse for the cottage) is equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, clothes airer and eco-friendly laundry detergent
Outside, the pretty private garden with dining table and chairs is the ideal place to enjoy breakfast or a sundowner and breathe in the serenity. Fully enclosed, it's a great (and safe) place for youngsters to play
The cottage has it's own secure Asgard bike store (for up to four adult bikes) - this can also be used for golf and/or winter sports equipment
There’s private off-street parking for two cars in the courtyard right beside your front door too, making Glenlockhart Cottage the perfect base for exploring the city and many of Scotland’s other treasures. Or hop on the bus - there’s a bus stop just two minutes’ walk from the cottage and an excellent bus service running every 10 minutes to the city centre
Situated in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage City of Edinburgh, there’s plenty to do - from our famous castle, art galleries, museums, theatres and shopping to some of the finest dining available in Scotland. There are discoveries to be made around every corner and a year-long calendar of exciting festivals and events to suit all ages and interests
On arrival you’ll find fresh flowers, a chilled bottle of wine and a welcome basket with locally-sourced Scottish products. The guest information folder in the cottage is full of information on things to do, places to visit and restaurant recommendations. We are very happy to assist with any queries before (or during) your stay, we know that holidays are precious and we will do all we can to make your stay enjoyable. We welcome guests on arrival, and we live in the house next door - so we’re there if you need us, but we won’t bother you if you don’t
