Situated on the banks of Loch Long, one of the magnificent sea lochs of Scotland, Knockderry House is a fabulous country house in Argyll and Bute yet near Loch Lomond and Helensburgh and perfect for relaxing, short breaks and exclusive use, small weddings.
Our 15 bedrooms convey a warm and inviting style of their own. The Library Suite, Master Rooms and most of the King rooms have inviting views of Loch Long and the Arrochar ‘Alps’ beyond. Standard Doubles and Smalls Double rooms are discretely located at the side and rear of the building.
We include numerous thoughtful touches: luxury fabrics, crisp Egyptian cotton, Krupp’s coffee makers, sumptuous bathrobes and Arran Aromatics toiletries. All rooms have flat screen televisions, some with DVD players. Free Wi- Fi access is available throughout the hotel including all bedrooms, although wifi strength can be variable due to our location. All rooms are, of course, en-suite and Master Rooms have a roll top bath.
Knockderry enjoys an enviable reputation for excellent food and drink sourced from quality local suppliers. Dinner is served in the old wood-panelled dining room of the original house with its glorious stained glass and a charming outlook over Loch Long.
During the summer, the garden terrace is the ideal place for a light lunch or an early evening drink overlooking the lochside. In winter, the Drawing Room with its magnificent woodcarving and glorious crackling fires makes for a suitably comfortable and relaxing environment in which to unwind at the end to a day walking, sailing or exploring the local area.
Owned by Murdo and Beth MacLeod and their excellent team of local staff with multiple awards for hospitality and quality of food, Knockderry House offers a truly Scottish country house welcome to all visitors to Cove and the Rosneath Peninsula and Argyll and Bute.
The unique coastline, fairy-tale castles and famous distilleries, mean there is so much to do and see. The hotel is within easy reach of Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne and the historic town of Inveraray, yet it is less than an hour's drive from Glasgow and less from Glasgow Airport.
