Fife Folk Museum is a free and welcoming museum that celebrates the social, domestic and working lives of the people in Fife, it is family friendly with an excellent tearoom. It is family friendly with an excellent tearoom. The Museum is housed in historic buildings including the remains of a 17th century tolbooth with jail and jougs and located in the heart of the Conservation Area of the historic village of Ceres. It is family friendly with an excellent coffee shop that welcomes dogs.

Fife Folk Museum was founded in 1968, and has expanded several times since then. Its collections are wide-ranging, covering every aspect of the daily life of everyone from the humblest cottager to the owners and servants in large houses, not only indoors, but in the garden, on the farm, and travelling around the countryside. The objects range in size from dolls’ house furnishings to bicycles, horse-drawn carts and an impressive Blacksmiths display; there are amazing costumes, china and glass, kitchen utensils, dolls and toys, farm implements, weights and measures and old photographs. After looking around the museum and gift shop with its range of artisan handcrafted items sourced locally, you can visit the Coffee Shop and enjoy great coffee and home baking including a gluton free option plus delicious soup and sandwiches, vegetarian options are available. The Coffee Shop is Dog Friendly so do bring along your four legged friend. Though the Museum closes at the end of October reopening April 1st the Coffee Shop will be remain open from 10.00 am Wednesday to Sunday last orders 3.45 pm winter hours may differ.
