NatureScot's Glasdrum Wood National Nature Reserve is a superb example of one of Scotland's Celtic rainforests. Clinging to the lower slopes of Beinn Churlain, rising up from the shores of Loch Creran, the mild, wet Atlantic climate provides the perfect conditions for ferns, mosses and lichens to flourish. An exciting array of invertebrates species thrive here, such as the rare Chequered Skipper and Pearl-Bordered Fritillary butterflies.
