Developed around two former reservoirs, Monikie Country Park boasts beautiful woodland and parkland with a variety of things to see and do. Monikie Country Park’s many attractions include guided walks and self-led trails, marquee hire, barbecue hire and an adventure play park.
Denfind Bird Sanctuary is an ideal bird watching venue, with two bird hides and a wide variety of wetland birds to see throughout the year.
The 50 acre watersports site operates from May to September and includes windsurfing, sailing, rafting, kayaking and canoeing, it provides a fun day out whatever your ability. Facilities include equipment hire, changing rooms, showers, and storage. Take part in taster sessions, individual instruction, group activities or RYA and BCU courses.
Between April and October you can take on the challenge of the High Ropes course, an exciting high tree top activity suitable for all abilities and a 160 metre zipline. Fly fishing for rainbow and brown trout is also available through the Monikie Angling Club.
The Byzantium Café Restaurant is situated within the park and operates throughout the summer. The ranger service will be happy to offer useful advice and information, they can tailor any activity to suit your needs, whether it is for a fun birthday party or to meet your outdoor learning outcomes through the Curriculum For Excellence.
