This disease, along with inhumane living conditions, public executions, physical punishments, witch trials, and murders, were just part of daily life in Medieval Edinburgh.
All of this created the perfect breeding ground for many kinds of fascinating legends and stories to emerge, which have been told by generation after generation, and are still an important part of the city’s culture today.
