Nestled amid the spectacular mountain and coastal scenery of North Harris, Sith-Phort is a perfect base for exploring the Outer Hebrides. With extensive enclosed gardens, our stylish former croft house, which sleeps five, has been renovated with comfort in mind. Whether you want to relax with a dram in front of the wood-burning stove in our cosy living room, curl up in bed with a book from our extensive library or cook up a storm in our large and well-equipped dining kitchen, you will find everything you need at Sith-Phort for a comfortable and relaxing stay on the magnificent Isle of Harris.
The house lies at the end of a four-mile single track road in the beautiful and historic settlement of Rhenigidale. Outside the front door are spectacular coastal and hill walks – including the Postman’s Path and the solitary peak of Tòdun – rugged bays visited by otters and sea birds, and mountain glens where eagles hunt and nest. The settlement’s small, sheltered pebble beach, where boats used to land provisions before the road was built in 1990, makes it an ideal location for kayaking and sea swimming.
Rhenigidale is a peaceful settlement that feels remote and secluded but it is well connected too. The well-maintained single-track road from Rhenigidale leads to the main A859 Leverburgh to Stornoway road. This means the silver sand beaches and historic sites of Harris and Lewis, as well as the amenities of Tarbert and Stornoway, are a short drive away.
