Situated at the western end of Kyle of Sutherland and accessed by an unmade farm track, the property is a perfect base to explore the Northern Highlands. There is easy access to beaches on both east and west coasts. This unique location is surrounded by acres of wonderful countryside enabling you to enjoy a real get-away-from-it-all holiday. The property overlooks one of the best salmon rivers in Scotland. Enjoy a range of outdoor activities including fishing, kayaking, mountain bike courses just 4 miles and local hire available, hillwalking or pony trekking, or take a dip in the stream close to the cottage. On a working farm, you’re likely to see a variety of wildlife and you may be lucky enough to spot a seal. Visit the Falls of Shin, Portmahomack, Dornoch Beach, Dunrobin Castle, go dolphin spotting at Cromarty, or head across to the west coast.
The wonderful accommodation offers FOUR bedrooms: 2 king-size doubles on the ground floor and 2 twins on first floor. One of the large double bedrooms, with sofa, is at the far end of the house, right next to a bathroom - perfect parents or grandparents wanting peace and quiet. Bathroom: 2 bathrooms on the ground floor, bath with shower over, WC and underfloor heating. Lounge: cosy and relaxing, exposed beams, woodburning stove. The property does not have a TV as there’s no reception, but there is free WiFi and good mobile reception. With hundreds of books and a well-stocked games cupboard, you won’t be bored. Kitchen/dining: spacious, well-equipped and open-plan with large stone work tops and a big farmhouse dining table to relax around. 4 oven electric Aga (perfect for drying clothes and cooking a great dinner), plenty of recipe books, high quality cook and tableware, fridge, freezer, washing machine and microwave. Outside: large enclosed garden which stretches the length of the house, outdoor seating, indoor bike store and drying room. Amenities: Ample parking at the top and bottom of the drive. Use your 4x4 or it’s just 400m amble to the cottage, with a wheelbarrow for your bags. High quality mattresses and 100% cotton bed linen, towels, electric heating, logs and Wi–Fi included.
