Aldourie Castle is of Scottish Baronial style and Grade A listed property. It was originally known as a 17th Century mansion house and was later extended to include an arts and craft wing in 1903. Impressively, the Aldourie Estate belonged to the same family for 250 years until it was bought privately in 2004 and subsequently underwent a generous £10 million development winning it the Sotherby’s UK Restoration of the Year 2011 award. Since its grand restoration the Castle has welcomed family groups, couples, weddings and other celebrations to enjoy its wonderful calming ambience and welcome atmosphere. A medieval castle to the core, Aldourie features hidden doors, old family portraits and vast fireplaces. It epitmoises Scottish history in both its interior and external characteristics.

Bedrooms & Rooms
Tradition, splendour and comfort can easily be found at Aldourie Castle. Each interior has an old-fashioned charm but the facilities belong undoubtedly in the 21st Century. The Castle sleeps 28 guests in 13 luxurious en suite bedrooms (12 doubles – 4 of which are available as a Twin – 1 Twin and 2 singles with dressing rooms). Featuring impressive four-poster beds and outstanding parkland views the bedrooms are individually decorated to reflect an eclectic design, from the glamour of luscious fabrics and cascading curtains to the simplicity of classic wooden furniture and pastel shades. For parties larger than the capacity of the castle additional accommodation is available in the four holiday cottages on the estate (for 21 people).
The Main Hall leads off to the Library and Drawing Room to the left and the Laird's Room, Dining Room, Kitchens and Billiard Room to the right. Two spiral staircases or a lift (featuring tartan decorated walls) take guests to the first and second floors of bedrooms, bathrooms and dressing rooms. Beautiful ornaments and wall hangings decorate the large window areas and hallways and each window offers a mesmerising view of the 500 acre estate complete with woodland, gardens and wildlife.
The enchanting Red Drawing Room hangs a beautiful Venetian Merano Crystal chandelier casting delicate evening light for pre or after-dinner drinks. The Dining Room features a magnificent table for hosting social or corporate gatherings and the Laird's Room used for breakfasts is located at the back of the castle looking down towards the shores of Loch Ness.
