The living area is warm and inviting with comfy sofas and wonderful views looking out to gardens and fields. The modern kitchen is well equipped with all your appliances to cook up some delicious home cooking.
There is a large enchanting garden with furniture for relaxing on sunny days, eating al fresco or enjoying a barbecue.
The property is semi-detached with the owners but with private entrance, garden and parking areas.
Close to the cottage is the Quien Loch with absolute breath-taking views to the Arran hills. Here you can hire a boat for fishing or watch the fantastic variety of birdlife from a hidden birdhide. One mile away is the stunning sandy beach of Scalpsie bay ideal for seal watching, beach combing and swimming. Imagine having a beach all to yourselves.
Bute golf club is a beautiful 9 hole course and only a 5 minute drive from the cottage. Don't forget your walking boots to walk the Bute Island way which is the best way to explore the islands varied landscape from hills to coastal paths to rugged moorland.
Rothesay is only 10 minutes by car too.
Directions by car
The island itself has a comparatively good road network, connecting Rhubodach in the north with the main town Rothesay, and further with Kingarth in the south via different alternative routes (sometimes single track roads only).
Directions by ferry
The island of Bute is accessible via two ferry links to the mainland, both operated by Caledonian MacBrayne (www.calmac.co.uk).
Coming from the Glasgow and Greenock area, the connection between Wemyss Bay (south of Greenock) and Rothesay allows relatively fast and easy access to the island; alternatively the longer, but more scenic route via Dunoon, Auchenbeck (B836) and Colintraive (A886) with ferry to Rhubodach.
