Appin Holiday Homes
IDEAL LOCATION MIDWAY BETWEEN OBAN & FORT WILLIAM AT EDGE OF SEA LOCH Discover for yourself the magical district of Appin .
If you are looking for quality holiday accommodation in an idyllic setting with wonderful scenery, Appin is ideal.
Appin is a rural coastal village situated on the West of Scotland in Argyll. Its boundaries lie along the shores of Loch Creran and the ancient hills of Morvern tower over Loch Linnhe. The famous Castle Stalker guards the entrance to Loch Laich. Steeped in history Appin has a very vibrant historic past stretching back centuries . We as a family have lived in the area for over 100 years and have a variety of accommodation on offer all of which overlook the lovely Loch Creran, a sea loch midway between Oban and Fort William.
The area is a haven for the outdoor enthusiast. Climbing, walking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, golfing and mountain biking are all easily accessible from our holiday park. There are a number of eateries including the Creagan inn a five minute walk, The Old Inn and the Pierhouse Hotel.
Whether you bring your own bike or hire when you get here, cycling is great fun and allows you to really get to know the area. We are right on the Caledonian Way Cycle Route 78 also known as the Red Fox Trail. You can cycle for miles from your base at Appin Holiday Homes to either the Sea Life Centre or Castle Stalker & further north to Glencoe. We often take our bikes and a picnic on the ferry to the small island of Lismore. For Mountain Bikers cycling in the forests of North Argyll you will find dramatic scenery, interesting archaeological features and abundant wildlife. If you wish to bring your own speedboat or jet ski please contact us and we can advise on launch points nearby. Small inflatables can be launched on site.
There are a number of walks in the Appin area some of the most popular are the Port Appin circular route an easy-going coastal walk taking in the headland beyond Port Appin with fine views over Lismore and out towards Mull, Glasdrum nature reserve at the head of Loch Creran and the Fairy bridge walk.
Your holiday home can either be one of our 10 lodges or 8 caravans. They are maintained to a high standard and offer all the essentials and comforts that you would expect. All have either; decking, verandahs or gardens to the front enjoying spectacular views across the loch and its ever changing moods. The Loch enjoys some superb sunsets and being away from towns and cities means a clear night sky is crammed with stars.
