Welcome to to the Isle of Jura! We are a small, family-run bed and breakfast offering a twin room and double room with shared bathroom and a self-service breakfast of toast, cereal, tea and coffee. Our caravan is also available for occassional use.
Ardcraig is perched above Small Isles Bay in the heart of Jura's main village of Craighouse, offering you the perfect base to explore the island.
We're just 8 minutes walk from the distillery, bar, shop, cafe and hall, with deer grazing on the hillside behind the house and fantastic views out over Goat Island to Gigha, the Mull of Kintyre, and the mountains of Arran (weather permitting!).
Whether you are here to visit our world famous whisky distillery (or the award winning Lussa Gin distillery), delight in our wildlife, explore our beautiful landscape, or follow in George Orwell's footsteps, we can promise you a warm welcome and a comfortable bed.
We are happy to welcome well behaved dogs (who do not jump on furniture or chase chickens) with responsible owners (who pick up dog poo) - please let us know in advance if you are intending to bring your pet.
Jura can be reached direct in the summer via Tayvallich using the Jura passenger ferry and all year round via Islay whihc has mainland ferry and air connections and connections to Northern Ireland. More travel information is available on our website.
Please note:
-There is a steep driveway leading to the house and the guest bedrooms and bathroom are all on the first floor. Unfortunately this means Ardcraig is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
- Our resident cockerel is very much a morning bird. If you are sensitive to noise, you may want to bring ear plugs.
- Wi-Fi is available for guests staying in the house, however it's not the fastest so we ask you not to stream movies or TV, or download/upload large files.
