Arrowdale sits in several acres of private land and is the perfect place to unwind and reset, or to explore and experience a broad range of experiences on land and sea in a very special part of the highlands.
Arrowdale is an architect designed modern home decorated in a fresh palette to reflect its surroundings. There's a king sized ensuite bedroom downstairs, and two twin rooms upstairs with a shared bathroom. The house is timber panelled throughout, giving a lovely cosy and homely feel. Double glazing, under floor heating and a wood burning stove mean that no matter what time of year you visit you will be comfortable. Arrowdale has been fitted out with comfort and luxury in mind, with cosy throws on the sofas and armchairs to snuggle up in, powerful reading/sewing lights, and high thread count White Company linens. This close attention to detail is carried through to the utility room, where there's a large heated cupboard with ample space to thoroughly dry wellies/coats and wetsuits overnight so you're all ready for whatever adventures the next day holds. The kitchen is equipped with the keenest of cooks in mind, with sharp knives and plenty of kitchen gadgets, and there's a Weber barbecue for those sunny days when only barbecued food will do.
The heart of Arrowdale is the large open plan living space. There's a huge picture window, and you can lose yourself for hours on the window seat watching seals splashing in the sea close by, or deer grazing in the garden. It's also a lovely spot for a read or a snooze. There are plenty of things to keep you entertained in the cottage should you feel like staying home; a powerful spotter scope from which you can get really close to the local bird and animal life, there are books, wooden jigsaw puzzles, board games, wifi, Freeview tv and a range of garden games from croquet to twister. There's a table and chairs immediately accessible from the kitchen from which you can relax and enjoy a coffee or a meal while taking in the view.
Dogs are welcome, and the generous outdoor space is wonderful for exploring. There's even a privately owned beach that you can walk or kayak to and take a picnic. Local options for walking/cycling/sailing/kayaking are endless, and added to these there's falconry, horse riding, boat trips, fishing trips, e bike hire and a lovely 9 hole golf course all within a few miles of Arrowdale. It's well placed for climbing Scotland's famous Munros; Torridon is an easy drive away, but there's a huge selection of wonderful less strenuous walking to be had locally as well. You'll find that there's more than enough things to do to keep you going for two weeks' holiday and still have things left on your list for next year's visit.
One of the best pubs in the area is two miles away from Arrowdale, and a fine dining hotel restaurant with a fantastic gin and whisky bar is only half a mile away. There are lots of lovely beaches close by, also shops, cafes and restaurants serving fabulous local seafood.
