Ashkirk School closed in 1992 and has recently been tastefully refurbished. The “Auld Skuil” now offers accommodation for up to 4 guests. This accomodation is offered as a suite only or with breakfast included.
This self-contained unit with its own entrance offers on the groundfloor an entrance hall with storage, a spacious lounge and dining area and a bedroom with a twin or a double super king sleeping arrangement. A spiral staircase leads up to a bright airy mezzanine level with a king size double bed and terrific views.

On site there is plenty of parking, additional secure storage, stabling and all weather surface should you wish to bring horses. Ashkirk is a small rural village in the Borders region of Scotland situated south of Selkirk and north of Hawick, approximately one hour’s drive from Edinburgh. The village is ideally located as a central base for touring the border towns. The tranquil village has a garage, The Smiddy Restaurant and Bar and Hazelknowe Restaurant, and scenic views of the Border hills; it is a popular location for sight-seeing, cycling, fishing and nature-watching with a variety of plants, birds and animals and is situated on both a walking and riding route.
