Autumn Gold is on the Black isle which is a little gem of an isle that is not really an isle at all, once you discover it however, you will always want to return. It has eveyything for history lovers, wild life.Dolphin watch at Chanonry point, take the Pictish trail,or call into the old historic buildings and the ruins in Fortrose, such as the majestic catherdral.There are the museums ,Groam House in Rosemarkie the Court house in Cromarty all free entry. The 'Clootie' well,even today folk believe in the wonders of the spring waters.Stop at the Pantry for refreshments, you will not be able to resist their baking.You have the opportunity to catch the famous two car ferry across to Nigg from Cromarty,it is simply a wonderful experience. A perfect stop to rest and enjoy the sights and sounds of this magical place, covenient for NC500. Our home is modern affording the luxury of being very airy and well insulated.We have some of the best views overlooking the Udale(Yewdale,Norse) bay and the Cromarty Firth, All our rooms have excellent views, woodland, farmland, in the spring watch the lambs, then gaze in awe at Ben Wyvis. Rooms are comfortable,very cosy beds, seating in rooms, digital t.v.radio,d.v.ds available as well as WiFi. Hospitality trays with a choice of refreshments to suit most tastes,chocolates&biscuits. The suite has a spotter to view all wild life cruise liners and everyday comings and goings on the firth .The viewing area also has a spotter. Perfect for catching sight of migrating birds including; wigeon,geese,goldeneye,cormorants,red breasted mergansers,red shanks,curlews,dunlins,and oyster catchers. It is a hive of activity and a pleasure to observe, and listen too, although the geese can get pretty vocal. Now we have a new 'Hide' in Jemimaville,where it is so much bigger and better offering more viewing stations,Full size windows, with feeders outside to attract the smaller birds,August is the best time to see the Osprey fishing in the bay. The newly restored Kirk Michael built in the 1400's. has been so long in coming but well worth the wait.
Our breakfasts are all locally sourced produce,we have included a gluten free menu and a vegetarian. Served in the comfort of our conservatory overlooking the bay, and our gardens. You are very welcome to our place.
