Badnabein Steading is set in a remote spot on a rural estate near Tomintoul (7m), nestled into the hill behind with a wonderful outlook out over the surrounding farmland.
Inside the main living area is incredibly light and bright with plenty of room for everyone to spread out in comfort. Cosy seating has been set up to take advantage of the warming wood-burning stove and there is a spacious and well-equipped kitchen area with dining alongside. Downstairs there are two pretty bedrooms, while upstairs are two further bedrooms and a bathroom. Outside the pretty gravelled seating area is a great place for alfresco dining or simply relaxing and admiring the view.
Just half a mile away is Corgarff Castle, a mid-16th century medieval tower house with an unusual star-shaped perimeter wall. As the house is within the Cairngorms National Park it means that walking, climbing and watersports are all available to try out. The Lecht resort (2m) offers skiing/snowboarding in winter and mountain biking in summer.
