Being centrally located in the Kingdom of Fife we are very close to Cupar, just nine miles from St Andrews, and just a short drive from Dundee, Edinburgh, Perth and the East Neuk of Fife, including Anstruther, Cellardyke, Crail, Elie, Pittenweem and St Monans.
Built by myself, Bag End Cottage has a contemporary but very homely feel. Fitted with a hand crafted cherry-wood staircase, heated Italian porcelain floors and dressed with Vintage 20th Century ceramics, glass and art from my private collection, Bag End Cottage is a truly lovely place to stay. Set in gardens with an outdoor dining area, a giant chess board and wonderful open views of the Fife countryside, Bag End Cottage is a must try experience.
Bag End Cottage is just nine miles from the Old Course and the British Golf Museum in St Andrews. We are within easy reach of over seventy other local golf courses, including Carnoustie and Kingsbarns, with the recently restored Hickory Golf course at Hill of Tarvit, only a ten-minute walk from our doorstep.
For the non-golfer, Fife boasts a wealth of visitor attractions, including V&A Dundee, Scotland’s Secret Bunker, Deep Sea World, beaches, and much more. Historic places of interest abound, with the likes of Falkland Palace, St Andrews Cathedral, Glamis Castle and Scone Palace all within easy reach.
Hundreds of miles of cycle and walking paths lead to wonderful Fife villages, including Anstruther, Crail, Cupar, Pittenweem and, of course, St Andrews. Filled with wonderful art galleries, restaurants, pubs and many independent boutique shops, Fife's towns and villages are a joy to explore.

Public Transport directions
From the nearest information centre:- From St Andrews Information Centre, head Right on Market Street towards Union Street. After 100ft turn left into Union Street. At the end of Union Street turn left at North Street (A917) Continue to follow A917 for 0.4 Miles. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto City Road (A915) Go through 1 roundabout and after 0.3 miles turn right at Argyle Street (B939) Continue to follow B939.
After 9.2 miles you will reach Craigrothie village. Take a slight left onto A916. As you go round a left hand bend, the small entrance down into Chance Inn is on the right side of this bend. Come down the hill cautiously as this road turns into a small rural lane.
You will come to a small T junction, please turn left. After turning left, we are on the right, approximately 100 yards.
Getting there by railway:- Cupar Railway station. 3.5 miles - 7 Minutes.
The closest station is Cupar, which is around 3.5 miles away. There are regular rail services from Edinburgh which is aprox 1 hour away. There is a taxi near the station or a taxi can be arranged to collect you.

Getting there by ferry:- Rosyth - Zeebrugge ferry terminal is located eight miles from Edinburgh and 30 miles - 47 minutes from Bag End Cottage.
