Sitting at the foot of Ben Mailey, Balranald Shepherd’s Huts have views out to the North Sea and overlook the rolling hills of Clynelish.
Both huts are creatively laid out, with a double bed and a single bunk above. Each hut has its own log burner with logs supplied. There is also a kettle, toaster and crockery in each.
This accommodation is ideal for a couple, a family or a group of friends who enjoy the outdoors while still living with home comforts; a kitchen, shower room and a comfy, warm bed. Travel cots are available for wee ones and we welcome your dogs for an additional fee.
Shepherds Huts are uniquely special place to stay; with the sun rising over the coast in the east, enjoy your breakfast outside or undercover in the barbeque hut. In the evening, make your dinner in the outdoor pizza oven before relaxing in the wood panelled hot tub. Finish the perfect evening by watching the sunset over the hills out of the window in the sauna.
The huts are currently only available to rent together due to Covid-19 precautions.
Located just five minutes off the A9 on the NC500 route, this is a superb location for outdoor holidays. Whether you’re here to walk, drive, cycle, fish, golf or just explore. Brora beach has a long sandy stretch to the north of the river. South of the river is famous for its geology where you can spend hours hunting for shells and fossils. When the tide is out, seals can be seen basking on the shore.
The local Clynelish Distillery runs tours throughout the year where you will see the whole process from barley to bottle. Finishing with a taster dram, which won’t be a problem as it is just a short walk back home to the Huts.
The village of Brora has all the amenities you might need: a local co-op and plenty of bars and restaurants.
Additional charges payable locally:
Use of the sauna and hot tub
Charcoal for the BBQ Hut
Dogs on their holidays
