Beautifully presented, the house features 3 bedrooms (1 kingsize, 1 double, 1 twin), and sleeps 4 guests. There are also 2 bathrooms (1 shower, 1 bath with shower over).
On the ground floor, you will find a cosy living/dining room with wood burner; spacious kitchen with large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine; and the kingsize bedroom with ensuite shower room.
Upstairs, there are 2 further bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), as well as a family bathroom (shower over bath).
Outside, there is a back garden suitable for enjoying the summer evenings, or storing kayaks/bikes etc. There is driveway parking for 2 vehicles.
The cottage may suit those with limited mobility - there is levels access to the front door (ramp), and all necessary facilities can be found on ground floor level. There are steps down from the back door to the garden - although the garden can be accessed via a side gate from the mono bloc driveway as well.
Set in the heart of the Kilmartin Glen, an area steeped in history, the cottage offers the perfect place to come home to after a long day of exploring. A minutes walk from the locally renowned Kilmartin Hotel, or the Glen Bistro, eating out is an easy choice! The pub of the Kilmartin Hotel has a fantastic, cosy and welcoming atmosphere - a good place to spend an evening (or two!), getting to know the locals!
The area immediately surrounding the flat is sure to be a hit with walkers and archaeologists alike. An area steeped in history, the Kilmartin Glen is 'considered to have one of the most important concentrations of Neolithic and Bronze Age remains in Scotland' (VisitScotland, 2024). There are over 350 ancient (150 of those prehistoric) monuments within 6 miles of the village, which include standing stones, cup & ring marked/carved rocks, forts, castles, cairns and stone circles.
The newly refurbished Kilmartin Museum is a must-see during your stay - and only a very short walk away.
There are loads of great walks in the area, with the ability to walk for miles right from the flat. The area is popular with cyclists too with many forest tracks and of course the canal, meaning you don't have to cycle on the main road either.
Pets are not allowed at Barrmor View, so the property may suit those with allergies.
Please note that whilst the cottage has 3 bedrooms, it is only licensed to sleep up to 4 guests (including children of all ages). This is set by the local council, so is non-negotiable.
