Accommodation: 4 bedrooms, 2 doubles, 1 single, 1 twin (sleeps 8)
A newly refurbished holiday house with a fresh and comfortable appeal, Bartaggart Farmhouse provides a great holiday destination for a large family or for two families. With four bedrooms, a great kitchen with attractive granite surfaces and a range cooker and a large sitting room with a welcoming wood burner this is a lovely house and great value. The good sized rooms are nicely presented and the conservatory to the side of the house is perfect for a siesta or watching the varied birdlife that visits the garden.
Bartaggart is set off a quiet road, in a very pretty rural part of Dumfries & Galloway. There is a small ‘hamlet’ of farm cottages, fields and horse barns. The views across the private enclosed garden to the fields and horses grazing are both beautiful and peaceful.
This rural idyll feels as if it is a great distance from the hubbub of modern life but in reality you can quickly reach the coast and charming towns like Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright. Both are a good spot to wander and enjoy or if you like the more remote landscapes take to the hills on mountain bikes or foot. At night, Scotland’s first dark sky park comes to you - wonderful views of the stars bring people from all over Britain. This is a really nice holiday home to enjoy a restful and comfortable break. There are two other cottages nearby each sleeping 2 people in one double bedroom. These are ideal for overflow numbers or for extended family.
