About Beggshill Bothy
Built in the 1920's as a farm labourer's cottage, Beggshill Bothy was completely refurbished by the previous owners in 2006 to create a simple, cosy retreat away from hectic day to day living.
Situated in a peaceful glen just a few miles from the busy A96 running from Aberdeen to Inverness, Beggshill Bothy is a one bedroom holiday cottage adjacent to the owner’s house at Little Beggshill. The whole site extends to approximately 3 acres, which includes an area of woodland and our secure dog paddock, both of which you are welcome to enjoy. Whilst the Bothy is adjacent to our own property, we value our privacy as much as yours so you will be completely left to your own devices unless of course you need anything!
We are surrounded by wildlife; watch the deer graze in the clearing opposite, sit back and listen to the birds, or see if you can spot the hare frolicking by the lane. The owl can be heard most nights, and pheasants are frequently attempting suicide on the lane! Without any light pollution, the night sky is truly beautiful. Whilst we've been told the Northern Lights can be seen from here, as yet we haven't been lucky enough to spot them - maybe you will!
Dog Friendly Accommodation
Multiple dogs are very welcome to holiday with their humans at Beggshill Bothy at no extra cost. Whilst all dogs MUST be kept on leads immediately outside the Bothy (without exception) the secure Dog Paddock is available for you to use. We do ask that you treat the property with respect as you would your own home, and give our own dogs space if you see us out and about.
Cuddly blankets, a raised feeder and old towels are all available for your dogs to use. A large crate is available on request.
