The Forestry Commission 7Stanes Mountain Bike Trails are located throughout the region with the nearest being at Dalbeattie Forest about a 5 minute drive away and also in Dumfries at both Mabie & Ae Forests, a little further afield are the trails in the Galloway Forest Park (Britain's first designated Dark Sky Park). The neighbouring village of Rockcliffe has a large sandy beach with many rock pools and is ideal for children of all ages, with other sandy beaches within easy reach.
