The Ben Lomond Bunkhouse is situated at Ardess Lodge, Rowardennan. It is part of the National Trust for Scotland Ranger Station at the base of Ben Lomond, a short stroll off the beaten track of the West Highland Way. It is a comfortable bunkhouse, ideal for groups of up to ten people who are looking for affordable, private and quiet accommodation. The cost is £22 per person per night for April-September, otherwise £20.
Downstairs there is a spacious lounge with log burning stove and large dining, well equipped kitchen. Drying facilities are on site, as is a secure area for bag drop off and pick up. Upstairs you have two good sized bunkrooms, one sleeping six and one sleeping four. There are two bathrooms, one with shower and one with shower and bath.
The profits from the bunkhouse help support the work done by the National Trust for Scotland Rangers, Path team and volunteers who care for Ben Lomond and manage the conservation programme for the area
The Ben Lomond Bunkhouse is a ten minute walk along the West Highland Way, from the forestry car park at Rowardennan. It is also possible to drive here though please be aware it is a forest track.
Directions: Pass the Rowardenn Hotel and come into the Forestry Car Park. Turn right, following the WHW. You will pass the entrance to the Youth Hostel at which point the track forks. Keep left. Go over little bridge and the Ben Lomond Bunkhouse is up on your right. Come up drive and around the back where, if driving, you can park.
There is no public transport to this venue.
