Bunkhouse accommodation at Rowardennan, run by the National Trust for Scotland.
The Ben Lomond Bunkhouse is situated at Ardess Lodge, 700m north of Rowardennan car park. It is part of the National Trust for Scotland Ranger Station at the base of Ben Lomond, and all profits from the bunkhouse go towards the mountain path repair, and habitat conservation, carried out by NTS rangers and volunteers on Ben Lomond.
It is a spacious and comfortable bunkhouse, ideal for groups of up to ten people who are looking for affordable, private and quiet accommodation. The cost is £22 per person per night for April-September, otherwise £20. The cost includes freshly provided bedding, and card payment is available on site.
Downstairs there is a spacious lounge with log burning stove and large, well equipped self-catering kitchen with dining area. Drying facilities are on site, as is a secure area for bag drop off and pick up. Upstairs you have two good sized bunkrooms, one sleeping six and one sleeping four. There are two bathrooms, one with shower and one with shower and bath.
Free tea, coffee and milk is provided, as well as bread and porridge oats for making breakfast, and we also have a small shop with some camping style food basics.
Road
The Ben Lomond Bunkhouse is a ten minute walk along the West Highland Way, from the forestry car park at Rowardennan. It is also possible to drive here though please be aware it is a forest track.
Directions: Pass the Rowardennan Hotel and continue to the junction 100m on. Turn right, leading onto an unsurfaced track following the WHW. Continue for another 400m, past the entrance to the Youth Hostel to another junction. Keep left to stay on the main track, go over a small bridge, continue for 100m until you arrive at the entrance to the National Trust for Scotland at Ardess Lodge. Turn right up to the lodge and follow arrival signs for the Ben Lomond Bunkhouse. If driving, you can park round the back.
Transport
There is no road based public transport to this venue, however you can get here by water-bus from Luss or Tarbet, check the waterbus timetable here for details https://www.cruiselochlomond.co.uk/waterbus-ferries
