Bertie Cottage can comfortably sleep six people. The cottage is surprisingly spacious and is tastefully decorated to a high standard, with modern furnishings with hints of tartan and Harris Tweed.
There are two good-sized upstairs bedrooms, one king-size and one double, each with a lovely view to Craig Choillich Hill to the south of Ballater. The upstairs bedrooms share a large family bathroom with corner bath and separate shower. Downstairs there is a large twin-bedded room which has it's own en-suite shower room. Each bedroom has a wardrobe and plenty of storage space. There is a hairdryer and all linen and towels are provided.
Downstairs there is a cosy lounge with two sofas, a " favourite armchair" and a large footstool with plenty of cushions for your comfort. The woodburning stove is perfect to nestle up to after a day outdoors. There is a smart TV, DVD player with a selection of DVDs, Blaupunkt bluetooth speaker and games and puzzles for all ages.
From the lounge you enter a bright, well equipped kitchen with views to the garden and Craigendarroch Hill beyond. There is a fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. The separate dining room is the perfect room to sit and enjoy a leisurely breakfast with the view of Craigendarroch Hill or to relax with your evening meal and plan the next days activities.
The dining room opens out onto a large enclosed deck with a seating area and separate BBQ area, perfect for outdoor dining. Behind the decking there is grass with a washing line and further planting. The garden is a fabulous suntrap, the sun can be enjoyed from early morning until the last rays in the evening. There is access to a large lockable shed - perfect for storing bikes or golf clubs etc. There is on-street parking directly outside the cottage.
Minutes from the cottage are the shops, cafes, restaurants and Ballater Golf Club. Further afield there are a variety of activities including hillwalking, fishing, cycling and skiing. There are many historical sights and castles to visit in the surrounding area including Balmoral Castle and Estate which can be found 7 miles away.
