Situated in Scotland near the borders of Northumberland and Cumbria, Borders Glamping is an ideal base for visiting Kielder Water, Kielder Observatory, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District and is only 30 mins from junction 44 of the M6 at Carilsle.
Our glamping cabin offers you the camping experience with a bit more comfort. A small door at the back of the cabin leads you into a cosy room with a full size double bed with a proper mattress, quality bed linen and a flat screen TV - the glass panels in the roof enable you to lie and admire the fantastic starry skies and then a blackout blind pulls down to ensure that your sleep is not interrupted by the light at dawn. The main cabin can sleep 2, has a woodburning stove, flat screen TV, small fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and spare socket for charging a phone etc.Plates, crockery. cutlery, tin/bottle opener, washing up bowl, draining board and water carriers are also provided. Blackout curtains and blinds help to ensure a good night's sleep. The cabin also offers FREE WIFI but the speed of Wifi is not brilliant in this area so please do not expect to be able to download movies (emailing and checking Facebook should be OK).
Outside you have a fire-pit and a can hire a gas BBQ.
The toilet and shower (free) is in the farm steading approx 100m from the cabin.
This is an exclusive cabin on our working sheep farm - we are not a camping site so if you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway you will not have noisy children in a pod next door. Equally so, as parents, you can relax knowing that your excitable children will not be disturbing others.
Dogs can be accommodated (we would supply a dog crate) when the occupancy is only 2 but strictly not allowed on beds or sofas.
Clay Pigeon Shooting available on-site (advance booking necessary).
Our 'back to nature' camping pod is situated on the banks of the river Liddel (weather permitting) where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Scottish Borders. Enjoy camping without the hassle of having to pitch a tent. Our fully insulated camping pod sleeps 2/4, it has a double bed for extra camping comfort (bedding is not provided). There is no heating and no electricity, the pod being lit by a battery-operated lantern. An eco composting toilet, hot gas shower and fire-pit are situated next to the pod. Please note the gas shower will not be available in windy or freezing conditions (there are however hot showers in the local village). This pod is ideal for those who like 'wild camping'.
