Bousd holiday cottage was built in 2014. Comfortable, modern and well appointed, with oak furniture and fittings , you'll find it equipped with everything you need for your self catering holiday. Upstairs is an open plan kitchen and lounge, with oak flooring, bathroom and balcony with outdoor seating. The kitchen has a cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher as well as numerous pots and pans.
The lounge area, funrnished in oak, is a great place to relax, with plenty of things to keep you occupied indoors including a large TV, DVD player, CD player with ipod docking station, free wi-fi, DVD's, books and games. The dining table easily seats 4 and extends to accommodate a highchair. From your window or the balcony you can enjoy views over the fields and watch our resident sheep, pigs and chickens.
Downstairs boasts 2 bedrooms, complete with luxury tartan carpets, one with a king size bed (ample room for a travel cot) and one with 2 singles. There is also a family bathroom with walk in shower and double- ended bath, and hallway with washer dryer.
On sunny days you can dine alfresco on the decking area, with a fine view of Ben Ledi, or try a game of quoits on the lawn. We also have a double swing set large enough for adults and plenty of room to run around.
For those who want to venture out, there's no need to take the car. Leave your vehicle in the private parking area, right outside the cottage, and take a 10 minute stroll in to Callander town centre. Small and picturesque, it has a surprising number of bars and restaurants to choose from, along with gift shops, 2 supermarkets, a Toy Museum and an all-year Christmas shop!
There are plenty of scenic walks around Callander, up to the Crags, around Callander Meadows (stopping to feed the ducks and swans), along to Bracklinn Falls. Or try climbing Ben Ledi. At 2800 feet, it is quite a challenge.
Bike hire is available in Callander, with designated cycle paths. Golfing, fishing and horse riding are also popular with Callander golf club, plenty of lochs and riding stables nearby. A short walk to Kilmahog, the next village, brings you to the Trossachs Woollen Mill with Hamish the Highland cow, and the Lade Inn pub wirth Real Ale Shop.
Should you want to venture further afield, Edinburgh, Glagow, Perth and Dundee are only an hour's drive. Closer still, Stirling, with it's Castle and art gallery and National Wallace Monument, is only 14 miles. On the way you can stop off at the Scottish Antique Centre, Deanston Distillery, Briarlands Farm and Blairdrummond Safari park. Or detour through Dunblane and the former spa town of Bridge of Allan.
Bousd holiday cottage is open all year round for summer holidays and winter breaks. Guests arriving for Christmas and Hogmanay also receive complimentary champagne and Scottish whisky to celebrate in style.
We would love you to visit Callander for your next holidays and to spend it at Bousd.
