We have three delightful self-catering cottages, a terrace of former farm workers cottages, overlooking the unspoilt bay of Brighouse, on the north Solway shore. The cottages are in a peaceful rural setting 2 miles from Borgue, and a bit further from Kirkcudbright, and they have expansive views over Brighouse Bay, the rolling Galloway hills and over the Solway to the Isle of Man. There is just a total of six properties on Brighouse Bay.
Here at Brighouse we have the most amazing coastal countryside. Take a look through our photo-gallery to see what we mean! A truly outstanding area of natural beauty with lots to do or rest and relax, the choice is yours, once you stay you'll come back year after year. Check our our reviews here
All inclusive, a quiet relaxing holiday with lots to entertain: pony trekking, cycling, golfing, fishing, bird watching, walking.
The cottages are all inclusive with the beds made up and fire set for your arrival. Oil fired central heating, electricity, logs and coal are all stored in the communal rear courtyard. The front of the cottage has an enclosed garden for children and pets.
The cottages are well equipped with tv, dvd/video, cd player and freeview sky. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washer/dryer, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, a dining table and six chairs. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and the en-suite has an electric shower. The windows are double glazed and furnished to a very high standard. Fire alarms and emergency lights are all installed for your peace of mind.
When weather is fine we have garden furniture and a BBQ.
Kirkcudbright is a beautiful friendly little town, with no traffic lights or zebra crossings, a lovely change from the rat race. You can understand why so many people retire and settle in this area.
