Cairn Valley is the classic Highlands cosy bothy updated for the 21st century with added style and luxury.
Inspiration for its refurbishment was provided by Scottish writer John Buchan, and the wild Scottish landscapes that his heroes inhabited. Heathery tweeds and the colours of stormy Highland skies create a backdrop for luxurious fabrics and contemporary comforts. A light-filled garden room was created as an inside/outside retreat whatever the weather. Perhaps it will be the spot where you begin writing your own Highland adventure novel!
Cairn Valley was deisgned for those who appreciate the quiet life. We've packed the place with books, board games, bird watching guides and binoculars. Sit back with a dram and a good book in front of the wood burning stove or soak your troubles away in our decadent freestanding bathtub which looks out to the birch wood behind the cottage.
In the bedroom is a wonderfully comfortable superking bed - ideal for sinking into after a day outdoors. We've added Hungarian goosedown pillows and quilts, plus 800 thread-count luxury bedlinens for a beautiful night's sleep. Your en-suite shower room has an invigorating rain shower, and above the bedroom is the mezzanine bathroom with a freestanding tub.
The wild Highland landscape looks just as it did in John Buchan's time. The living room and bedroom both have window seats from which you can watch the visiting birds and other native wildlife. Antlers adorn the walls both inside and out - a nod to the Rothiemurchus deer herd - your closest neighbours at the bottom of the track that leads to the cottage.
