Cala Sith is a carefully modernized traditional Islay stone cottage situated in the centre of the picturesque conservation village of Port Charlotte. The house can accommodate up to six people self catering in three bedrooms/two bathrooms.

Cala Sith ( a peaceful haven) is a carefully modernised, traditional Islay stone cottage which can sleep up to six guests self catering. Situated in the middle of the picturesque conservation village of Port Charlotte, the house is a convenient short walk to all amenities in the village. The fishing pier, a small sandy beach, the village pub and the village shop/post office/petrol station are all within 200 yards.

The entrance hall provides storage for coats, anoraks and boots. The house is family friendly; well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement at time of booking. Adjacent street parking. The house is non-smoking throughout.
Amenities in Port Charlotte
The Museum of Islay Life, the Natural History Trust centre, the Port Charlotte & Lochindaal hotels, and Jan's Restaurant are within walking distance. The Port Mor Centre, on the edge of the village, contains a bistro cafe and a large children's playground.
The house is conveniently situated for visiting all Islay's other attractions including tours of the whisky distilleries, the RSPB wildlife centre and the several historic and heritage sites on the island. Activities available include fishing (sea, loch and river), walking or hiking, pony trekking, bird watching, golfing on the Machrie links course, swimming at the Mactaggart leisure centre indoor pool, or relaxing, Islay style, on the island's many extraordinary and secluded beaches.
Travel to Islay
Travel to Islay is either by car ferry from Kennacraig just south of Tarbert on the A83 Campbeltown road; timetable available at www.calmac.co.uk or by air from Glasgow Airport - flights operated by Loganair; timetable and online booking at www.loganair.co.uk. Car hire and taxi services are available on the island. There is also a public bus service to Port Charlotte from the ferry terminals and airport.
The house is rented by the week, from 3:00 pm Saturday. To allow for cleaning, guests are expected to vacate no later than 10:00 am the Saturday they are due to leave. Rates vary from £450 to £750 per week, all inclusive, depending upon season, length of stay and size of party.

To avoid a fruitless enquiry, please first check the availability page on the www.calasithislay.co.uk website. If the period you seek is available, please submit the 'Contact Us" form on the website which will automatically send us an email with the details of your enquiry. We can then provide you specific Booking Information and the Terms and Conditions for your stay, including how to make a deposit. Once we have recieved your deposit, we will send you a formal booking confirmation letter which will include the specific details of the booking you have made and final payment conditions. Please contact our local property manager several days before you arrive and provide your expected time of arrival in Port Charlotte; confirm the numbers in your party and beds you would like made up; and provide a contact cell phone number (in case you are delayed), so that you can be welcomed and given the house keys.

A deposit of £100 per week is required to establish a confirmed booking. Deposits can be paid either by sterling cheque, internet bank transfer; or by PayPal. Full payment of the balance due is expected six weeks prior to your arrival. Details for making payments will be provided in our response to your inital enquiry and are included in the standard booking information guide we will send you with your enquiry.
