Camusblathan is a traditional 3 bedroom cottage with a unique charm in a unique location.
Knoydart is a remote peninsula, often referred to as Britains Last Wilderness and is accessible by boat or after a 16 mile hike. We recommend the boat because when you arrive into the port of Inverie you have free use of a 4x4 which you load with your provisions and drive 7 miles along a single track road which has some of the most unbelievable views to be seen anywhere in Scotland.
The house sits proudly above the beach in the small hamlet of Airor. Camusblathan is the only holiday accommodation in the area and the other 3 households welcome visitors with open arms. This is a true taste of Knoydart, away from the hustle and bustle of the main village of Inverie that plays host to thousands of visitors who come and go on the regular ferry service.
The house is cosy and welcoming with an open fire, stove and modern heating system. Power is supplied by solar panels with a back up generator and water comes directly from the Airor burn which runs down from the mountains at the back of the house. If you want to escape the rat race for a while this is the place.
The house also doffs its cap to modern day living. The kitchen is well equipped, there's a lovely bathroom with a powerful over-bath shower. There are 3 double bedrooms with a sleeping capacity of 7, all with gorgeous quality bedding. All the bedrooms have views out to sea. There's even a mobile phone signal and wifi....or you can turn off your phone and pretend there wasn't a signal - we won't tell anyone! Whether you're looking for a family holiday in a safe location or a couple seeking solitude Camusblathan is an ideal choice.
There are walks right outside the house or you could sit on the beach and contemplate life. If you want to visit the village just hop in the 4x4 as you get 70 miles of fuel too! In the evenings you could enjoy a glass of wine and a book by the fire or watch one of the many DVD's. There are board games too.
Everything at Camusblathan is included in the price; logs, heating, electricity, bedding, towels etc. We even supply toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, tin foil and lots of other bits n bobs to save you carrying them. You just need your food and drink and you're ready to go.
We even have a fair price policy too. If you're fed up of prices being hiked for school holidays and other peak periods, then fear not. We have reduced our main season prices so that every week at Camusblathan is the same price!
If the sound of the sea appeals to you, no passing traffic (we're literally at the end of the road) fresh air, dark skies full of stars, a cosy house with jaw dropping views then get in touch.....
