Capercaillie Cottage has an interesting history dating back to 1850. The original farm steading buildings have been lovingly restored and converted into comfortable, high quality accommodation.
In keeping with its namesake, the large woodland grouse, Capercaillie Cottage is the biggest of the Kipney Steading cottages. There are two double bedrooms on the ground floor, both with en-suite bathrooms (one has a bath, both have showers). Each bedroom has a superking sized bed and there’s the option to convert one of the bedrooms into a twin-bedded room with two single beds instead. Guests love the bright artworks and quirky mirrors which add character and charm.
The open-plan living area is upstairs, on the first floor, and has wonderful views over the pretty Perthshire countryside. Patio doors lead out to a wooden terrace with two short flights of stairs to ground level. The stylish kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences including a double oven and an induction hob. There’s also a dining table for four and comfortable sofas for relaxing and watching TV.
There is ample car parking and an electric car charger adjacent to the property. A notable feature is that the adjoining cottages and nearby Kipney farmhouse can all be booked together to house larger families and groups. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate stag or hen parties at Capercaillie Cottage.
Equipment such as BBQs, garden furniture, cots, etc. are all available on request.
