Tucked away on the southern fringes of the Cairngorms National Park, Carn Dearg Bothy offers an idyllic escape amidst the rolling Perthshire hills. Set nearly three miles from the nearest road, this tastefully converted shepherd’s bothy sits in complete seclusion on Ashintully Estate, with uninterrupted views and only wildlife for company. Perfect for walkers, cyclists, and outdoor lovers, the surrounding landscape is a haven of quiet trails and open wilderness.

Sustainably designed, the bothy draws water from its own spring, is powered by solar energy, and features a compost toilet. Inside, the cosy open-plan space has a wood-burning stove for heating and cooking, a mezzanine double bed, and a well-placed dining area. Outside, soak in the wood-fired Dutch tub or enjoy evenings by the fire bowl under starry skies. Access is via foot, bike, or lift from your hosts, making this a true off-grid retreat.
