This is a family run business offering self catering accommodation with a home from home feel. Situated in a secluded, rural location, yet close to local amenities, Carse Cottage is a more modern wing of an old farm cottage.
The accommodation is newly converted to form a self contained cottage with its own entrance.
The house is set in an acre of gardens nestling in farmland with views towards the sea, the Isle of Man and the distant Lakeland fells. The gardens are home to an abundance of wildlife including birds, bats, stoats, and our brood of hens and Indian runner ducks, who wander unchecked. Carse cottage is approximately 4 miles north of Twynholm on the Glengap road. The A75 gives access to all major towns in the region. Castle Douglas, the food town is approx 8 miles and Kirkcudbright, the artists town is approx 6 miles away. There are many attractions and activities close by; including the Cocoa Bean factory, Cream o’ Galloway, Threave house and gardens, Broughton house and gardens, Loch Ken and the beaches at Brighouse bay, Sandgreen, Carrick shore, Cardoness and Mossyard. The cottage is spacious and well equipped with attention to detail to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The living/kitchen area is open plan with lots of space and comfy sofas and oak flooring. You can enjoy the views from a sofa, or sit outside and watch the social comings and goings of our hens and ducks. The cottage sleeps 4 (plus a baby), in king size and twin rooms, and can accommodate all children. We have young child and baby specific essentials (please see facilities for details). We have made every effort to equip the cottage to accommodate visitors by ensuring it is comfortable and practical and the ideal place to relax and enjoy your holiday.
