Ceol na Mara is a single-storey cedar chalet perhced above the shore at Aultgrishan, looking out to Skye, Harris and Lewis.
Ceol na Mara is the ideal base for walking, cycling, nature-spotting and all things energetic and outdoorsy, or just for relaxing. Often the only noise you'll hear is the waves breaking on the shore.
Accommodation: 1 double, 1 twin (maximum 4 people).
The accommodation is a single-storey cedar chalet attached to the owner's house. The chalet is comfortable and well equipped—as numerous guests have testified. The large kitchen has a dishwasher, a washer/dryer, a microwave, electric oven with solid hotplate hob, and a wide range of general kitcheny tools.
All the main rooms look straight out to sea, giving commanding views over the sea to Skye (and Harris and Lewis). If you're lucky, you'll catch sight of sea eagles, golden eagles or buzzards up above; in the sea you might spot minke whales, sperm whales or dolphins. Sunsets are stunning, and after sunset on a clear night, the stars are amazing. The International Space Station, the Milky Way and shooting stars are regular sights; the Northern Lights are rarer but highly prized!
Restaurants, shops and a decent range of facilities (including healthcare and dental) are in Gairloch, some nine miles distant.
