For those interested in fishing there are plenty brown trout / salmon lochs and the area is ideal for the sailing fraternity with Heisker (Monarch Isles) within kayaking distance.
All around is a wide variety of wildlife with the RSPB Reserve in nearby Balranald and a range of seabirds along the many shores. There is also scope for moderate climbing on the moorland hills.
For eating choices there’s either a number of restaurants within a short driving distance, bring your barbeque for the warm summer evenings or there’s good facilities in the cottage itself.
