A range of accommodation options to suit all budgets - from small one bedroom chalets, two bedroom lodges, cotages and farmhouse all set within Cologin Farmstead boasting its own rustic bar and restaurant less than 3 miles from Oban town centre.
Family owned and managed self catering chalets, lodges and private houses all with wi-fi access, set in a scenic glen with a characterful rustic pub and restaurant on site. Cologin is an excellent touring base, although with wonderful walks and free fishing on our trout loch in the hills, there's plenty of things to do on your doorstep. We've great facilities on site too - our old farmstead which sits besides an ancient drovers trail between the Highlands and the Lowlands, boasts its own country inn. You can still follow the drove road by foot, horseback or bike, through the hills. From the farm, the path takes you directly to our loch, Gleann a'Bhearraidh less than a mile from your chalet door.
Walking and fishing are not the only things on offer at Cologin. Take in a little local history and visit the 16th century Campbell of Lerags cross, the ruins of Kilbride Church and the burial grounds of the clan MacDougall, all less than half a mile away.
On site, our child-friendly menagerie of farmyard animals will provide plenty of amusement and there's plenty of space for kicking a ball around and a fenced children's play area outdoors - within sight of our covered beer garden terrace. This part of Argyll has a well-deserved reputation for first-class sport diving and superb sailing. Further down Lerags Glen, at Ardoran Marine, you'll find boat launching facilities. We can help organize watersports for you, and of course if you have something else in mind and would like assistance before you book, don't hesitate to ask. Universally acclaimed as 'gateway to the isles', Oban is less than three miles away. Its port serves a host of west coast islands and a day trip to Mull, Iona and Staffa is a must during your stay - we can arrange transport into Oban if you wish to take an inclusive coach excursion. The town has its own distillery and a range of shops and restaurants if you want a change from The Barn Bar on site. Oban is known as the 'Seafood Capital of Scotland' and you should try some fresh shellfish during your visit.
With several different accommodation options available it is usually best to contact us directly to ensure we match your needs. We offer group and senior citizen discounts. Family get-togethers our speciality - The Barn Bar is a perfect venue for a family gathering and the lodges provide privacy for large family groups. The farmhouse can be booked by up to 12 people at one time so this house is particularly suitable for two families sharing or a two generations on holiday together.
