Colterscleuch Cottage is a spacious two-bedroom cottage with a homely and welcoming feel, offering a comfortable and relaxing stay that is suited for a family or group of five, but also not too big for couples looking for a quiet retreat. Set amidst rural farmland in the beautiful Scottish Borders' Teviot Valley, the cottage enjoys a fairly secluded spot but is a short drive away from amenities in Hawick and is a good base to visit and explore the historic Scottish Border towns and English Borderlands.

Colterscleuch Cottage was once an old farm building. Now converted into a spacious, two-bedroom cottage whilst still maintaining the traditional cottage feel with stone walls and wood burner it has all the modern comforts for a wonderful holiday at any time of the year.

There is an abundance of wildlife surrounding the cottage and it’s easy to spend an hour or so just watching the many birds come and go, including pheasants. Most of our guests are entranced by the amount and variety of birds who visit the feeders just outside the patio doors. It's very easy to spend time watching their antics! You can guess what they are or look them up in our bird books.

It has a fully equipped modern kitchen and a large living room with a wood-burning stove that adds to the cosy cottage feel. There is a patio leading off the living room for alfresco dining. Beyond the patio is a secluded area, ‘The River Garden’, where you can sit and enjoy the views of the farmlands and listen to the babbling river and birdsong from the extensive wild bird population or venture further down for a dip in the River Teviot that runs at the bottom of the garden.

During the long warm summer evenings you can enjoy a campfire, sitting round the firepit and watch the sunset over the farm fields with a view and sound of the river below. Or for a late afternoon or evening retreat, why not have a BBQ over the firepit which has a large BBQ grill fitted and a picnic bench and table to enjoy your meal in the outdoors under the trees.
