The charming Corrennie School Cottage is a two-bedroom, two-ensuite detached cottage on the edge of Royal Deeside Aberdeenshire. Just a 25-minute drive from Aberdeen International Airport and 35 minutes from the centre of Aberdeen, it is beautifully situated within 14 acres of privately owned woodland and gardens ideally suited to short walks directly from the front door. The location provides easy access by car to the beautiful Deeside attractions at Balmoral, Braemar, Aboyne and Ballater. Aberdeenshire is known as Scotland's Castle County with over 260 from which to choose, the fairytale Craigievar Castle being just 10 miles distant. In winter, the ski centre at Lecht is 35 miles away offering superb Alpine slopes.
The secluded self-contained Cottage provides an idyllic rural escape from the stresses of modern living with only deer, rabbits, red squirrels, woodpeckers and a multitude of winged neighbours to complement your view of the flora surrounding the cottage. Roses tumble across the walls of the Cottage adding to this romantic retreat. For the adventurous, a nearby burn and pond remind you that the tumultuous waters of the Atlantic Ocean lie a short drive away for some wild swimming. Walks in the bordering National parkland (Corrennie Woods) beckon while the famous Aberdeen Angus cows might be heard from neighbouring farms.
The cottage has step free access with all rooms on a single level. The first bedroom has a double bed, and is equipped with a bath and overhead shower. The second has twin beds and a shower room. The Cottage is self-catering only but has a modern kitchen well stocked with cooking and dining utensils, and contains an oven, microwave, counter top stove, fridge, dishwasher, and washing machine. The kitchen also boasts a comfortable dining space and access to a tumble dryer is available upon request.
The spacious living room benefits from a wood burning stove, large TV which is equipped with Sky Freeview, and French doors which provide access to the patio and garden – a sheltered sun trap with a picnic bench inviting both indoor and more informal eating outdoors. The sofa converts to a double bed-settee. A third toilet is located just off the kitchen and completes the all-ground floor accommodation of the Cottage.
A welcome basket of milk, bread, tea, coffee is provided on arrival. Further provisions are to be found in Torphins (seven miles), Inverurie (12 miles), and the Westhill Shopping Centre with a Costco and Tesco which is nine miles away.
A 4G WiFi signal is available in all rooms and is strong enough to comfortably support video streaming.
