Balmoral Castle, the Queens summer residence and major visitor attraction is just 7 miles away, the community owned Braemar castle 1 mile away you come to realise why Braemar is such a popular destination for people from around the world.
For walkers Braemar in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park has 24 mountains within the area over 3000 feet (munros) and 3 of which are over 4000 feet. We also have various local pituresque walks for all abilities from our doorstep.
Cycling
Around Braemar and the surrounding countryside there are trails to suit all abilities whether it’s a gentle pedal admiring the views or a strenuous all day adventure.
Alternatively within 1 hours drive we have the Tarland Trails and the Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trails.
Road Cycling,
Cycling through the mountains following the winding River Dee you can...
from the house head on a leisurely cycle out to Linn of Quoich or head along the South Deeside Road past Balmoral out towards Loch Muich.
if you want to ge the heart racing then there’s the pass over Glenshee to the south of Braemar or head North over Gairnshiel to the Lecht with some 1in 5 hills to climb.

Skiing,
Just 8 miles away is Scotland’s largest ski area in Glenshee covering a wide expanse of the Southern Cairngorms.
We have the highest 18 hole golf course in Scotland surrounded by mountains of which the River Clunie runs through.
Ideally situated for walking, cycling, golf, fishing, shooting, skiing and sightseeing.
